Just what can you do to aid your Bonsai during this period?
Well

Let’s water, water and water. The only problem we have with our potting mixes we used with Bonsai is that they do dry out very quickly. That’s great in one way – that we don’t need to worry about root rot, but it means that we can’t be lazy and not water when the potting mix gets dry. It certainly dries out this time of year. We have our Bonsai on automatic sprinkling and are watering them 6 times a day. That may sound like a lot to you, but with 100 + temps and it feeling like an oven it’s not really too much. |

Let’s try to give your Bonsai a little
bit less sun so that their leaves/needles won’t
look so scorched. With sun you get a bleaching
effect on the leaves which means that they
look pale. They also are paling out from the
amount of water we are drenching the leaves
with in our attempt to keep the Bonsai cool
and the leaves turgid. |
Do
fertilize because you are leaching out many of the
nutrients from the soil with this excessive watering
regimen. For the paling out of the leaves you can use
the chelated iron to keep your Bonsai looking great!
