PM146 - Soft Akadama - 5 Quart - Small Grain. This product is heat treated and used for bonsai like normal Akadama. It can be crushed between your fingers using normal pressure. This is the product we see so much in the grower's nursery. You would pick up a plant out of the pot, say a pine or azalea, and all the akadama would come out in the form of whatever configuration that was the pot shape. The roots love it. This form of akadama is great for about two seasons of growth. It is extremely porous. Permeability to water is excellent. Outstanding in that it can hold a lot of water, yet is not soggy wet. If you've had a problem with root rot, this is your answer. Great for creating a fibrous root system.
