Hori Hori Cropping Blade. A knife that is used for digging out potential Bonsai from their native surroundings. The knife is used today for that purpose, but additionally used to cut the roots and remove old soil from Bonsai during the root pruning process. A very heavy duty tool that has an overall length of 11½". The blade is 6 5/8" by 1 5/8" wide. It has a brown textured finish plastic handle. The blade is concave. A very good utilitarian knife. Here are some interesting tidbits about the product: Horu is a verb, meaning to dig out. Hori Hori reminds done to dig or to crop something. It is a black painted steel product. Its main usage is to dig, crop wild edible plants and sprouts in the Spring by people wandering in the deep mountain areas and collecting them. Very versatile. The blade is very sharp so use with utmost care. Use it properly. Do not twist the blade or force it as this may damage it. After use, wipe with damp cloth.
