The Bald Cypress is a beautiful and classic choice in a bonsai, even for a beginner. Its evergreen appearance as well as its growth rate – offering a quick reward for the new bonsai artist – make it a highly desirable species. With its thirst for water and resistance to most insects, it’s also easy to care for, making it the perfect tree for beginners and veterans alike.
This tree thrives in hot, moist conditions, and tends to be found throughout the American south, though it also grows as far north as Massachusetts and Minnesota. A deciduous conifer, this is a hardy tree, capable of living up to 800-1000 years.

- Very good
Overall Rating Quality ValueExcellent starter material for bonsai (and could grow in yard too). I ordered 3, they arrived in one box, very well packed and healthy, even after spending a weekend in box in post office, possibly upside down! All are 20 to 22 inches tall at cut end of woody stem, with this seasons growth adding a couple more inches to total height.

- Beautiful starter
Overall Rating Quality ValueWas really impressed with this little starter. Will make a beautiful patio Bonsai. Fell in love with it right out of the box. I've already repotted it into a next up pot for continued growth and it's happily settling in. Beautiful, thanks!
