- Zelkova serrata from Dallas
Overall Rating Quality ValueI've grown Zelkova serrata for 42 years from cuttings taken from the same plant. I wanted to get 3 of these from Dallas Bonsai and grow from a different seed source, plus they looked good in the pictures.
They were well packed and shipped. I called and asked for some straight trunks and decent nebari. I got 3 very straight trunks but of course, I'll have to rework the nebari which was covered with soil.
They are nice starter trees. I will let them grow this year since I can't do a full re-pot in June.
- Great Possibilities
Overall Rating Quality ValueVery good packaging, no damage. Haven't repotted yet, wanted for it to rest from the trip. New branches starting and it is looking good. Today it gets its new pot. Love it and the quality is excellent. Thank you.
- Patience is the Key
Overall Rating Quality ValueReceived this "tree" as a mere "stick" with barely a few roots (Shipping was very good and packaged well with no damage). Even my dog thought it was a stick and began to chew on it! But ... I patiently planted it in a larger pot, and it is progressing nicely. It appears healthy and is shooting new leaves almost daily. An interesting specimen which you can watch mature from a mere "stick" to hopefully a nice bonsai. Unless something unforeseen happens, I think I'll enjoy watching it mature. Nice buy.
- Japanese elm
Overall Rating Quality ValueTree came well packaged and looked very healthy. It was already trimmed with a very nice branch structure and was planted in some free draining soil. I planted it in a bonsai pot and it began growing immediately, almost doubling in size by the end of the growing season. It is now one of my favorite trees.
